International
The POWERtalk Board of Directors is the governing body, comprised of members from all over the world. Our administrative headquarters, originally in Anaheim CA, are now located in New Zealand. Our fiscal year is August 1 to July 31. This level until 2003 held a convention each July at a different site. In 2003 the decision was made to hold convention every 2nd year. Here is where we've been recently and where we're going:

  • 2000: Toronto, Canada
  • 2001: Anaheim, California
  • 2002: Nassau, Bahamas
  • 2003: Durban, South Africa
  • 2005: Baltimore, Maryland
  • 2007: Brisbane, Australia
  • 2009: Alaskan cruise
  • 2011: Indianapolis, Indiana
  • 2013: Honolulu, Hawaii
  • 2015: Rotorua, New Zealand

The 2005 convention in Baltimore was co-hosted by the Blue Ridge and Northeast Regions.

Two of the 2011-13 international officers, President Carol Preiss and Division II Vice President Judy Schuth, are members of the New Directions chapter. Judy will remain as Division II VP for 2013-15.

Region
The third level embraces all chapters of those councils within its boundaries. Northeast Region consists of the Canadian provinces of Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, and the US states of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan.  Northeast Region was formed in 2000 by the merger of Colonial and CANUSA Regions. In August 2004 the Great Lakes Region merged with Northeast, expanding our western boundary.
This level holds a conference each year in late May. THE OFFICIAL BACKGROUND COLOUR FOR ALL REGION JEWELRY IS RED.

The New Directions chapter boasts several Past Region Presidents. Four are still active: Carol Preiss, Louise Stanford, Joanne Weber, and Judy Schuth. Louise is also the current Region President.

Council
The second level (optional); membership consists of clubs/chapters assigned within a geographic area. This level meets twice per year, in October and April. THE OFFICIAL BACKGROUND COLOUR FOR ALL COUNCIL JEWELRY IS GREEN.

New Directions does not belong to a Council but is a club-at-large.

Club/Chapter
The individual chapter is the basic component of the entire structure. The club is POWERtalk. THE OFFICIAL BACKGROUND COLOUR FOR ALL CLUB JEWELRY IS WHITE.

Clubs/chapters are composed of up to 30 active voting members. Membership is limited to 30 in order to offer maximum opportunity for individual participation. You will find clubs in over 20 countries worldwide, including almost every American state and Canadian province. Guests are welcomed any time, and may attend a few meetings free of charge in order to "check us out".
