International
The POWERtalk Board of Directors is the governing body, comprised of members from all over the world. Our administrative headquarters, originally in Anaheim CA, are now located in New Zealand. Our fiscal year is August 1 to July 31. This level until 2003 held a convention each July at a different site. In 2003 the decision was made to hold convention every 2nd year. Here is where we've been recently and where we're going:

  • 2000: Toronto, Canada
  • 2001: Anaheim, California
  • 2002: Nassau, Bahamas
  • 2003: Durban, South Africa
  • 2005: Baltimore, Maryland
  • 2007: Brisbane, Australia
  • 2009: Alaskan cruise
  • 2011: Indianapolis, Indiana
  • 2013: Honolulu, Hawaii
  • 2015: Rotorua, New Zealand
  • 2017: Seattle, Washington

THE OFFICIAL COLOURS OF POWERtalk ARE BLUE (FOR STEADFASTNESS OF PURPOSE) AND GOLD (FOR QUALITY).

In recent years the Fredericton POWERtalkers have won several awards at convention for our innovative ideas. For example, we were the first chapter in the world to launch a website, back in February 1996.

In July 2013 Shelley Petley had the honour of installing the new international officers at the convention in Honolulu. She is also the current International Website Committee Chair.

Region
The third level embraces all chapters of those councils within its boundaries. Northeast Region consists of the Canadian provinces of Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, and the US states of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan.  Northeast Region was formed in 2000 by the merger of Colonial and CANUSA Regions. In August 2004 the Great Lakes Region merged with Northeast, expanding our western boundary.
This level holds a conference each year in late May. THE OFFICIAL BACKGROUND COLOUR FOR ALL REGION JEWELRY IS RED.

The Fredericton POWERtalkers chapter boasts one Past Region President, Shelley Petley, who served in 2004-05. Shelley served as Coordinator for the 2010 Region Conference in Moncton NB and Communications Director for the 2012 conference held June 1-3 in Manchester NH.

Council
The second level (optional); membership consists of clubs/chapters assigned within a geographic area. Council 1 has active chapters in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. This level meets twice per year, in October and April. THE OFFICIAL BACKGROUND COLOUR FOR ALL COUNCIL JEWELRY IS GREEN.

Fredericton's own Shelley and Bill Petley are both Past Presidents of Council 1. Alex Cormier is currently serving as Council Secretary-Treasurer.

The Fredericton POWERtalkers most recently hosted the Council 1 spring meeting in April 2015, and will be hosting again in April 2017.

Club/Chapter
The individual chapter is the basic component of the entire structure. The club is POWERtalk. THE OFFICIAL BACKGROUND COLOUR FOR ALL CLUB JEWELRY IS WHITE.
